| Were I laid on Greenland's coast, And in my arms embraced my lass, Warm amidst eternal frost, Too soon the half-year's night would pass. Were I sold on Indian soil, Soon as the burning day was closed, I could mock the sultry toil When on my charmer's breast reposed. And I would love you all the day, Every night would kiss and play, If with me you'd fondly stray Over the hills, and far away.

| I met a really weird kid yesterday. Like, he was so weird. He was talking to a group of us in the basement of our dorm and all of a sudden he looked right at me and said, "If you could stop staring at me, that would be great." So I responded with "Hey, I'm really not staring at you." Because I really wasn't. I was looking at him because he was talking to us, but I wasn't staring or glaring or anything. Samantha and I kind of started to laugh. Weird Kid got mad and said, "Would you just stop! You've got these piercing blue eyes!" He said it with much scorn and contempt. I told him it was nice meeting him, and he turned around and walked away.
yeah college...

| I went back to the old familiar halls of Centennial High School yesterday to return a book to Mrs. Cooper. Ahhhh, high school. I guess I don't really miss the overall high school experience, but I definitely do miss people a freaking lot. I saw Mrs. Roberson and gave her a hug and talked about AP scores and books, and I really wished I could sit down and have a real chat with her. Man, I miss her a lot. And it was great to see Mrs. Cooper. I told her that I tested into a French 333 class at UT and she said, "WOW!!! You know that's a junior level class?" In fact, I did not know this. Yikes. I'm pretty sure that just because I can read French pretty well doesn't mean I know everything that they're supposed to tell you in the first two years of college. But whatever. | | |
